Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ: INTU) today announced that The Prudential Insurance Company of America is providing consumers with real-time rate quotes for term life policies, and agent referral services online through Quicken InsureMarket (http://www.insuremarket.com).
"We are pleased to add Prudential to the impressive list of major, national insurance carriers joining us at Quicken InsureMarket to offer consumers the most complete online service for learning about insurance, buying a policy or contacting a local agent who can provide personalized service and advice," says Steven Aldrich, president of Intuit's Interactive Insurance Services (IIS) subsidiary.
Prudential now provides term life rate quotes on Quicken InsureMarket and information about other life insurance products, including whole life coverage. All policy sales must be made through a Prudential representative. Consumers will be able to access an agent locator to find a local Prudential representative who can provide further information and advice. Consumers can also request an appointment via e-mail and a representative will contact them to arrange it.
Quicken InsureMarket is the leading insurance site on the Internet, with participation from major, national insurance carriers, and the ability to offer real-time rate quotes and online payment options, which can speed the process of buying insurance. The full-service site also features a library of educational material so consumers can learn more about insurance, as well as interactive financial planning tools and advice from independent insurance experts.
Quicken InsureMarket is part of Quicken.com (http://www.quicken.com), which provides individuals with objective information and interactive tools to make sound financial decisions. It then provides links to leading financial service providers so consumers can implement those decisions more conveniently than ever, saving time and money. InsureMarket provides individualized, real-time rate quotes, and provides online purchase and payment options not available on many other Internet insurance sites that offer only sample rate quotes.
With the addition of Prudential, each Quicken InsureMarket user can potentially receive real-time rate quotes for term life coverage from five carriers. The others are: Lincoln Benefit Life, John Hancock Financial Services (for its Marketplace by John Hancock term life policies), Transamerica Occidental Life, and Zurich Direct. Agent referral options for life policies are also offered by the Allstate Insurance Company, John Hancock, MetLife, Prudential and State Farm Insurance.
Quicken InsureMarket also features product information about individual disability income and long term care insurance and an agent referral service from UNUM. Western Security Life has also announced plans to participate in Quicken InsureMarket. Quicken InsureMarket also plans to grow by offering auto insurance policies later this year.
