CNNfn.com And Intuit Announce Quicken.com On Fn, The Premier Personal Financial Resource On The Web
NEW YORK and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - December 02, 1997 - CNNfn.com, the world's leading financial news Web site, and Intuit (NASDAQ:INTU), the world leader in personal finance software and functionality on the Web, announced today that they have joined forces to create QUICKEN.COM ON FN, an extensive co-branded personal finance area on CNNfn.com. Located at www.cnnfn.com/quickenonfn/, QUICKEN.COM ON FN will be free of charge to consumers and offer up-to-the-minute financial information combined with powerful financial management tools to enable them to make the most of their money.

The new area will replace the current "Your Money" section on CNNfn. The companies also announced that Intuit's Quicken.com will be the exclusive provider of personal financial tools to CNNfn.com when the new site launches on Dec. 9, 1997 and for the life of the five-year agreement.

"For the millions of visitors who use CNN.fn.com, the partnership with Intuit further enhances CNNfn.com's presence as one of the leading sites for business news and information on the Web," said Lou Dobbs, president of CNNfn. "QUICKEN.COM ON FN presents Internet users with the opportunity to see how financial news directly affects their lives when they analyze their own finances using Intuit's financial applications."

"By bringing together a world class financial news gathering organization and the most comprehensive personal finance tools and resources from Intuit, QUICKEN.COM ON FN, offers the most valuable personal finance site free to consumers so that they can make the most of their money," said Scott Cook, chairman and co-founder of Intuit. "The relationship with CNNfn adds even greater momentum to our Internet businesses and to the growing popularity of Quicken.com."

QUICKEN.COM ON FN will help people make the most of their money and provide tools to enable confident financial decisions. The site integrates in one place business news, comprehensive tools and expertise in important areas of personal finance. Consumers will be able to follow the latest developments in the world of personal finance and then, without leaving QUICKEN.COM ON FN, use an array of interactive tools to better understand and manage their money. For example, visitors will be able to calculate how much they need to retire based upon their objectives and use the investment planning tools to help them achieve those goals.

Using QUICKEN.COM ON FN, consumers will be able to compare insurance quotes and then go to Quicken.com to make a purchase online. Consumers will also be able to quickly and easily assess how much mortgage they can afford or when is the best time to refinance. All of the site's tools are geared toward helping people make informed financial decisions specific to their situation and goals for the future. Unlike many other personal financial Web sites, QUICKEN.COM ON FN will be free to users and will cover all areas of personal finance.

An additional nine staffers have been added to CNNfn.com's staff to produce personal financial news content for QUICKEN.COM ON FN. The section will blend this extensive content with Intuit's range of financial management and productivity tools. Advertising revenue from the site will be split between the two parties and the new section will be cross-promoted both online and on CNNfn the Financial Network.
