The Financial Times, Intuit And Excite Announce Strategic Relationship
London - March 16, 1998 - Financial Times Electronic Publishing, Intuit and Excite today announced a ground-breaking project to develop the most authoritative on-line personal finance resource in the UK. These three leading companies are creating a comprehensive web site designed to help UK consumers make the most of their money by helping them to make more informed investment and financial choices.

The web site, due to be launched in Q2 1998, will combine the Financial Times' broad news coverage and analysis, including the research of its sister publication, Investors Chronicle, Excite's navigation and personalisation expertise and Intuit's easy-to-use software tools, making it the UK consumer's natural choice for personal finance information and decision-making.

"Excite and Intuit's partnership in the US has created one of the most popular personal finance channels on the Web today. We are confident that this winning formula in combination with the Financial Times will enable us to repeat the success in the UK. This collaboration enhances Excite UK's offering to become the easiest and most valuable experience on the web," said Evan Rudowski, Managing Director Excite Europe.

"Following on from the recent formation of Financial Times Electronic Publishing, we are delighted to announce, as our first joint venture, a relationship with two of the strongest partners in the Internet arena. Personal finance is a core area of content for the FT and this venture enables us to extend the FT brand to a wider audience," said Tony Blin-Stoyle, commercial director of Financial Times Electronic Publishing.

"We are very pleased to have the opportunity to work with both Excite and the Financial Times in the UK. This partnership is a milestone in the development of the Internet for UK consumers, and should revolutionise the way people inform themselves and select financial products," said Scott Cook, Founder and Chairman of Intuit Inc.
