Intuit Shifts Gears To Continue To Grow Web Initiative
Quicken.com Offered as a Free Alternative to Investor Insight
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - July 16, 1998 - Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ: INTU) announced today that in order to refine the company's strategic direction and continue to grow Web initiatives, their Investor Insight service will be concluded. The phase out of this investment news and research service will be effective August 31, 1998, after which, customers will no longer be able to access Investor Insight. An e-mail letter was sent to all existing Investor Insight customers on July 15, 1998, to notify them in advance of the phase out of the service.

Intuit's Quicken.com web site http://www.Quicken.com offers to users a majority of the same powerful investment tools, and is a viable, immediate alternative to Investor Insight. And there is an added benefit: the site is free.

"It was a difficult decision, but we realized we were duplicating efforts between Investor Insight and Quicken.com," stated Mark Goines, Intuit's Senior Vice President of Intuit's Consumer Finance Products division. "We are confident, that Quicken.com is a strong option for our Investor Insight customers and we are working to ensure that whether our customers choose to use Quicken.com or another alternative, it is a seamless transition."

Investor Insight Phase Out Schedule
The phase out process began yesterday, July 15, 1998 with the e-mail notification to all existing Investor Insight customers. Next, Intuit will halt billing to all existing customers on July 31, 1998, although customers may continue to use the service through August 31, 1998, when the service is officially concluded.

Quicken.com, one of the leading online personal finance web sites, allows consumers to set up investment portfolios, and offers a majority of the same powerful investment tools that are available in Investor Insight, plus extensive news and company profiles, analyst ratings and so much more. All of which is available at no cost to the consumer.

Flash Report - Quicken.com's new alerts provide more functionality, alerting customers to splits and dividends, in addition to changes in price and volume.
