Boston, MA -

1998 -
Scudder Funds and Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ: INTU) announced today that they have reached an agreement for Scudder to sponsor the Retirement Planner on Quicken.com (www.quicken.com), a leading personal and small business finance Web site. Sponsorship of the site also includes a link to the Scudder Funds' Web site, (www.funds.scudder.com), a comprehensive source of retirement content with tools and calculators to help investors plan for their retirements.
"Our relationship with Quicken.com is a great opportunity for Scudder to enhance our presence as a leading source for investors planning for retirement," said Iang Jeon, Vice President and Director of the Electronic Commerce Group. "With a growing number of people investing electronically, we need to meet the needs of electronic investors by creating personalized, interactive relationships on-line." "We are excited to have a leading provider of mutual funds as a sponsor," said Tapan Bhat, Group Product Manager, Quicken.com. "This retirement planner represents our commitment to providing Quicken.com consumers with the best resources to help make smart investment and retirement decisions."
Visitors to Quicken.com can use the Quicken Retirement Planner to project/estimate the income from their pension plans and social security and determine how much money they might have to save to make up the balance for their retirement goals. The program asks details about one's financial life, ranging from questions about current income to projected costs of children's college education. The Quicken Retirement Planner will give users results on how much they might have to save and recommend an action plan for the next steps they can take to achieve their investment goals.
As a leading provider of retirement solutions for long-term investors, Scudder offers a wide variety of mutual funds, traditional and Roth Individual Retirement Accounts, (IRA's), 401(k) plans, and retirement planning solutions. "Scudder is committed to helping investors prepare for retirement by empowering them with the knowledge and planning tools they need to make informed investment decisions and is pleased to be a sponsor of Quicken's Retirement Planner, a third-party source of information," said Joan Bloom, Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing for Scudder Direct.
