Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ: INTU) today announced agreements with 31 financial institutions and service providers to offer its WebTurboTax service to their customers through the institutions' Websites. WebTurboTax allows taxpayers to prepare and file all the same Federal and State income tax returns as Intuit's TurboTax desktop software program, but with the added convenience of preparing and filing via the Web. And since no trip to the store or downloading of software is required, preparing and filing taxes is faster and easier than ever.
"Intuit is leading the way in providing consumers with easy access to personal financial tools and services via the Internet," said Larry Wolfe, senior vice president of Intuit's Tax Products Division. "This level of accessibility to WebTurboTax, the Web version of our #1-selling tax preparation software program, is historic."
Financial institutions and service providers offering this convenient service to their customers include: Bank of America, BankBoston, The Chase Manhattan Bank, Commerce Bank, Compass Bank, Crestar Bank, EAB, First National Bank of Long Island, First Tennessee, First Union Corporation, Firstar Bank, Fiserv, Fleet Bank, HP Employees Federal Credit Union, HP Family Federal Credit Union, HP Rocky Mountain Federal Credit Union, The Huntington National Bank, INTRUST Bank, KeyBank, LaSalle Banks, Marquette Banks, Mellon Bank, Mission Federal Credit Union, Net.B@nk, PNC Bank National Association, Sanwa Bank California, SouthTrust Bank, Star Bank, Union Bank of California, Wachovia and Wells Fargo.
The availability of WebTurboTax on more than 31 of the nation's leading financial institution Websites illustrates the commitment Intuit has made to provide consumers with the best tools and services to revolutionize the way they track and manage their money.
Currently, more than one million Quicken® customers take advantage of the ease and convenience of the online financial services offered by Intuit and their financial institution - that's four times as many users as the closest financial software competitor. In addition, more than 60 financial institutions - including banks, credit card companies and investment firms - offer consumers a direct connection to such online services as account access, bill payment and investment tracking, through Quicken, QuickBooks®, and now TurboTax, products. These institutions represent approximately 80 million accounts nationwide, or one third of all the checking accounts in the nation.
Consumers can also connect to hundreds more financial institutions with Quicken 99's new Web connect feature and, with the Intuit online payment service, can schedule bill payments with any U.S. financial institution that offers check-writing privileges.
