Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ: INTU) and Discover Financial Services, Inc. announced today that Discover® Cardmembers can now easily and conveniently download their Discover Card account statement information to Quicken 99® personal finance management software. This new capability, made possible through Open Financial Exchange, will save Cardmembers time and offer them new levels of convenience.
"Our expanding relationship with Intuit and our investment in Open Financial Exchange connectivity enables us to better serve our Discover Cardmembers by allowing them to directly download their Discover Card account statement into Quicken," said Colleen Zambole, vice president of Electronic Commerce at Discover Financial Services. "Ultimately, this allows our customers greater control of their finances."
"Discover Cardmembers who use Quicken personal financial management software will now have fast and easy access to their account information," said Mark Goines, senior vice president of Intuit's consumer division. "As a result, they will be able to better track and manage their finances, and to make even better use of their Discover Card."
This new service is a further expansion of Intuit's existing relationship with Discover Card. This past tax season, Discover Cardmembers who used TurboTax® tax preparation software enjoyed the option of charging any federal income tax due to their Discover Card accounts. According to the companies, the TurboTax payment option, which was exclusive to Discover Card, was very successful.
Additionally, through June 30, 1999, Discover Card's Internet ShopCenterSM allows Cardmembers to save up to 25 percent off the regular retail price of Quicken 99 and receive an additional 10 percent Cashback Bonus® award when using their Discover Card to make the purchase through ShopCenter. Information about the offer is available at http://www2.discovercard.com/shopcenter/intuit.htm.
The Discover Card account center at www.discovercard.com allows registered Cardmembers the ability to access current and past transaction information and sort it to their preference on the Web site, by date, description or amount. The SmartCheckSM payment option available on the site provides a convenient, online way for Cardmembers to pay their Discover Card bill.
