Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU) today announced agreements with more than 350 financial institutions and service providers to offer Quicken® TurboTax® for the WebSM to consumers through the institutions' Websites. This represents 10-fold growth over the amount offering access this time last year. TurboTax for the Web allows taxpayers to prepare and file federal and state income tax returns online using the same features and benefits as the #1-selling Quicken TurboTax desktop software program. And since no trip to the store or downloading of software is required, preparing and filing taxes is faster, easier and more convenient than ever.
"The popularity of TurboTax can be attested to the 4.4 million taxpayers who prepared their return using the product line last year. It's incredible to now have these financial institutions put their confidence in TurboTax for the Web. These sponsors will help make TurboTax for the Web accessible to millions of taxpayers, including those trying tax preparation software for the first time," said Bob Meighan, vice president of the Intuit Consumer Tax Group. "And with our lower pricing and 'drop dead' simple interview, this year's TurboTax for the Web service is the easiest, fastest and most complete ever."
