Quicken Turbotax And EXP Team To Provide Instant Access To Live Tax Advice
MOUNTAIN VIEW, California - January 23, 2001 - With more than 55 million taxpayers choosing to prepare their own tax returns, many do-it-yourselfers also want the option to consult a tax professional. This year, Quicken® TurboTax®, the #1 best-selling tax preparation software, and Quicken TurboTax for the WebSM, the most popular online tax preparation and filing service, both from e-finance leader Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ: INTU), are offering a live tax advice feature (www.turbotax.com/taxadvice) that gives taxpayers the opportunity to contact a tax expert via a network of tax professionals. This innovative service is powered by EXP.com Inc., the leading infrastructure provider of Knowledge Exchange technology.

Taxes Just Got Easier
Through this cooperative venture, consumers can access "TurboTax Live Tax Advice" simply by clicking a button in TurboTax software and TurboTax for the Web. With one click via the Internet, taxpayers can access highly qualified tax experts by phone, email or instant messaging, immediately at the point of need. Using EXP's sophisticated technology platform, taxpayers can choose to post their question and have participating tax professionals 'bid' for the opportunity to respond or they can select one expert from the hundreds of participating tax professionals. Prior to selecting an expert, consumers can review posted rates and profiles, browse tax experts by category and review comments and ratings from other consumers. Participating tax professionals set their own rates with fees averaging $1 to $2 per minute. The free market environment created by this network of tax professionals keeps rates competitive and the quality of advice high. Taxpayers can register to receive $5 off their first use of the Live Tax Advice service.

"TurboTax is always looking to make tax preparation easier for the consumer. We found EXP's technology to be the only application that was advanced, yet simple and flexible enough to be integrated into our already extensive in-product "Help" system," said Bob Meighan, vice president of Intuit's Consumer Tax Group. "Whether consumers have a question about their particular tax situation or they're looking for additional validation of their return, the instant, personalized live advice feature TurboTax now offers is an invaluable tool for the millions of people who do their own taxes."

EXP provides business partners the ability to integrate a Knowledge Exchange into their corporate and consumer offering. EXP's comprehensive Knowledge Exchange enables companies to provide one-on-one advice and service sessions to their employees, customers, and partners.

"Intuit's dedication to providing consumers with a complete online tax resource resonated with EXP's goal to provide corporate partners with technology tailored to their own needs," said Mark Benning, CEO and founder of EXP. "Tax season can be incredibly stressful for consumers, and we're excited to work with Intuit to lend a hand in making the process quicker and easier."
