In the face of turbulent markets and investor uncertainty, Intuit's (NASDAQ: INTU) leading e-finance site, Quicken.com (www.quicken.com) today released two months of index-stomping performance results from stocks identified by use of the site's One-Click Scorecard. While investors should generally judge performance over the long-term, the results generated in the first two months are intriguing. This unique tool identifies potential top performing stocks using strategies recommended by leading investing experts. On Dec. 1, 2000, Quicken.com created model portfolios by selecting the top 20 stocks over five dollars per share identified by each One-Click Scorecard strategy. The result: All three model portfolios significantly beat the major U.S. stock market indices. From Dec. 1, 2000 through Jan. 31, 2001, the One-Click Scorecard portfolios were up 36.5 percent, 18.1 percent and 28.7 percent, compared to 4.5 percent, 3.9 percent, and 5.5 percent for the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), S&P 500, and Wilshire 5000, respectively.
