Quicken.com™´s One-Click Scorecard Stock Picks Post Up To 36 Percent Gains, Beating Most U.S. Stock Market Indices
Online Investing Tool Leverages Strategies of Professional Investors Including the Addition of The Motley Fool´s Foolish 8 Strategy
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - February 06, 2001 - In the face of turbulent markets and investor uncertainty, Intuit's (NASDAQ: INTU) leading e-finance site, Quicken.com (www.quicken.com) today released two months of index-stomping performance results from stocks identified by use of the site's One-Click Scorecard. While investors should generally judge performance over the long-term, the results generated in the first two months are intriguing. This unique tool identifies potential top performing stocks using strategies recommended by leading investing experts. On Dec. 1, 2000, Quicken.com created model portfolios by selecting the top 20 stocks over five dollars per share identified by each One-Click Scorecard strategy. The result: All three model portfolios significantly beat the major U.S. stock market indices. From Dec. 1, 2000 through Jan. 31, 2001, the One-Click Scorecard portfolios were up 36.5 percent, 18.1 percent and 28.7 percent, compared to 4.5 percent, 3.9 percent, and 5.5 percent for the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), S&P 500, and Wilshire 5000, respectively.

Quicken.com's One-Click Scorecard provides consumers with free access to the insight and expertise of leading investment strategists. From Dec. 1 to Jan. 31, the portfolio of 20 stocks selected by One-Click Scorecard using Geraldine Weiss' Blue-Chip Value Strategy rose a whopping 36.5 percent, compared to a 4.5 percent gain on the DJIA. The top stocks identified using the strategy outlined in Robert Hagstrom's best-selling book The Warren Buffett Way posted a 18.1 percent gain in this period, compared to a 3.9 percent gain with the S&P 500. The top 20 stocks chosen based on evaluation criteria endorsed by the National Association of Investors Corporation's (NAIC) Established Growth Strategy rose 28.7 percent during this period, compared to a 5.5 percent gain for the Wilshire 5000.

One-Click Scorecard Offers Users Convenience and Expert Evaluations
"In a volatile stock market, individual investors need to be especially selective in evaluating and picking which stocks to buy. Quicken.com worked closely with widely-recognized experts to present their investment criteria in the One-Click Scorecard," according to Quicken.com product manager Steven Gordon. "The One-Click Scorecard enables any investor to measure a stock's potential in a fraction of the time it would otherwise take, eliminating hours of difficult research and explaining in plain English how the expert would evaluate the stock. It analyzes a stock's track record using leading strategies and helps investors to make much smarter and more confident decisions about buying and selling stock."

The One-Click Scorecard, a new feature unique to Quicken.com, offers convenience and speed by instantly showing investors an easy-to-understand professional evaluation of any stock. Simply type a ticker symbol and the One-Click Scorecard will crunch all the numbers using the latest data available, providing the consumer with an instant report showing how a stock fares using an expert's strategy, including an overall interest rating. Also, the Scorecard provides a clear explanation of how a stock is evaluated and includes next steps for continued research. Additionally, the Scorecard provides consumers a list of top rated stocks for each of the experts' methods. By consolidating the information developed by some of the nation's leading investment experts, the Scorecard helps individual investors save hours of research and make sense of company financial data with just a click of the mouse.

The One-Click Scorecard's Strong Interest stock portfolios come from an extremely diverse group of industries ranging from financial services to manufacturing to transportation.
