Intuit Announces Quicken® 2002 Deluxe For Macintosh To Be Built Natively For Mac OS X
Mac OS X Foundation Will Give Quicken 2002 Deluxe for Macintosh an Easier to Navigate, More Powerful User Interface
Macworld Expo, New York, NY. - July 17, 2001 - Intuit (NASDAQ: INTU), the leading provider of financial software and Web-based services for consumers, small businesses and accounting professionals, today announced that Quicken® 2002 Deluxe for Macintosh will be built natively for Mac OS X, Apple's next generation operating system. Mac OS X's open-source, UNIX-based foundation will provide users of Quicken, one of Macintosh's most popular software applications, with an easier to navigate and more powerful user interface. Quicken 2002 Deluxe for Macintosh is scheduled to be released later this summer.

"Quicken 2002 Deluxe for Macintosh utilizes the power and flexibility of Apple's new operating system and delivers a financial software package that gives users additional stability and an improved user interface," said Steve Grey, Quicken general manager. "With the addition of several new and improved features, Quicken 2002 makes it easier for consumers to manage their day-to-day finances more effectively."

While still compatible with Mac OS 9.0.4 or later versions, Quicken 2002 Deluxe for Macintosh offers users a variety of new timesaving features that will help them more easily update their financial account information and forecast their taxes. Strengthening its investment capabilities and building on its commitment to eliminate tedious data entry, Quicken 2002 for Macintosh enables users to download their most recent brokerage transactions directly from the Web into Quicken via OFX technology. OFX is a leading industry standard for online banking and payment.

Additionally, users of Quicken 2002 for Macintosh will be able to update all of their financial account information in one step through online connectivity to over 1,000 financial institutions. This timesaving feature allows users to download bank, credit card, brokerage statements, and stock quotes in a single online session, instead of connecting to each institution individually.

Quicken 2002 for Macintosh will also introduce a new Capital Gains Estimator, enabling consumers to more easily forecast their year-round tax situation. The Capital Gains Estimator will help Quicken users minimize their taxes by evaluating the tax implications of selling different stocks and mutual funds before they conduct a transaction.

Quicken 2002 Deluxe for Macintosh has many other new features in store for consumers, which will make managing their finances easier. To pre-order Quicken 2002 Deluxe for Macintosh, please call 800-952-2558 or log onto the Web site: www.quicken2002.com/mac.
