Intuit Launches New Programs To Help Construction Firms And Accountants Work Together More Productively
Master Builder Professional Advisors Program helps accountants better serve clients on Intuit’s construction business management software platform
Master Builder Live Advice Center helps small businesses easily find and interact with Master Builder accounting professionals in real-time
San Diego, Calif., - January 07, 2002 - Intuit (NASDAQ:INTU) today launched two new programs that help construction firms to easily identify and connect with accountants who can provide the specific business management expertise they need. With the new Intuit Master Builder Live Advice Center, construction firms quickly and easily connect across the Internet with accountants, who can address the tailored needs of the business. The second new service, Intuit Master Builder Professional Advisors Program, allows accountants to better distinguish their business management expertise through accreditation. Construction firms gain the peace-of-mind of knowing that program members will provide knowledgeable and qualified client assistance.

Both programs are centered on the Master Builder software platform offered by Intuit, the leading provider of complete accounting, tax, and business-management solutions. Intuit® Master BuilderTM, acquired from OMware, Inc. in November 2001, provides construction companies with an integrated estimating, project management and accounting business management solution.

Master Builder Live Advice Center

With the Master Builder Live Advice Center, Intuit Master Builder customers are able to seek advice from skilled, trained accountants who reply via e-mail or phone simply by clicking a button within the Intuit Master Builder “Help” section. Intuit Master Builder customers can select accounting advisors based on geographic location, subject matter expertise, background, or other factors.

Intuit's Master Builder Live Advice Center features the same technology that enables more than 13 million individuals, businesses, and accountants using Intuit products to provide and receive assistance on a broad range of financial- and tax-related matters.

For accountants, joining the Intuit Master Builder Live Advice Center includes the ability to set their own fees, schedule, and means of interaction with clients. Paperwork requirements are reduced significantly as the Live Advice Center automatically collects the accountant's fee after completion of a transaction.

Accountants also can choose one-time, incremental business opportunities, or pursue long-term business relationships by assisting the same client or clients over an extended period of time.

IntuitAdvisor Vice President Steve Blundell said the Intuit Live Advice centers have been designed to benefit both Intuit customers and advisors. “Intuit recognizes the importance and value accountants provide to all of our Intuit customers, and that's why we're so excited to provide the new Intuit Master Builder Live Advice Center,” Blundell said.

“The Master Builder Live Advice Center will offer customers greater flexibility and options for their technical support and customer service needs,” said Dan Smith, vice president, Intuit Construction Business Solutions.

“Managing a small business can be a complex process, especially in the construction industry,” said Smith. “The Intuit Live Advice centers are designed to help Intuit Master Builder customers solve the problems they have, when they have them.”

Expanded Professional Advisor Program

For accountants with construction clients, or those who would like to become more involved in the construction industry, IntuitAdvisor is also introducing its new Intuit Master Builder Professional Advisors Program, an accountant recognition program similar to the QuickBooks Professional Advisors Program.

Under the new program, accountants will have two options: to become an Intuit Master Builder Professional Advisor or an Intuit Certified Master Builder ProAdvisor. Both programs will benefit accountants interested in supplying business management, accounting, tax or other consulting services to Intuit Master Builder customers.

The Intuit Master Builder Professional Advisors Program will help address the growing need for accountants familiar with Intuit Master Builder and for advisors with construction management training experience. By joining today, an accounting professional will be positioned to expand his or her client base and supply product training, business management, and other consulting services to a rapidly growing product base.
