FORTUNE magazine today named Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ: INTU) to its prestigious list of the "100 Best Companies to Work For." This is the second consecutive year Intuit has made FORTUNE's list. These results support Intuit's internal survey, which shows that 81 percent of employees believe Intuit is a great place to work.
This is the third such award for Intuit in two months. Intuit Canada Limited was named Canada's Top 100 Employers 2003 and the Globe and Mail's Report on Business magazine ranked Intuit Canada No. 8 out of 50 on its list of top Canadian employers.
"Intuit continually strives to be a great place to work for employees," said Sherry Whiteley, senior vice president of human resources. "Employees appreciate such benefits as flexible work schedules and telecommuting options. We recognize that high-quality employees deliver high-quality results, so we continue to look for ways to recognize and reward outstanding efforts."
Employees also take pride in Intuit's commitment to the local community. Each employee is given 32 hours of paid time off each year to volunteer at company-sponsored events.
"We believe that delivering for employees adds to our success, so we're honored to be recognized by our employees, FORTUNE magazine and The Great Place to Work Institute as one of the best companies to work for in America for the second year in a row," said Whiteley. "We listen to employees and results of surveys like this to help with our goal to continue to make Intuit a great place to work."
To be considered, companies allow the magazine to survey randomly selected employees on issues such as trust in management, pride in work and company, culture, communication and camaraderie. Seventy percent of the ranking is based on these employee surveys. FORTUNE also reviewed Intuit's employee demographics, benefits and compensation, and work-life balance offerings.
