Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisorSM saves nuns time
QuickBooks® Point of Sale Version 2 helps religious order speed up data entry
New York, New York - July 22, 2003 - For the Sister Disciples of the Divine Master, a Roman Catholic congregation of women religious, Leslie Capachietti is a godsend.

"You could say Leslie is our QuickBooks savior," said Sister Nieves Salinas, mother superior of the congregation.

The sisters were contemplating a better way to manage inventory at their Liturgical Apostolate Center in Boston, where they sell a variety of liturgical supplies, religious articles, gifts, jewelry and cards to the area's faithful. Capachietti, a Certified Intuit Inc. QuickBooks ProAdvisor, introduced the nuns to QuickBooks Point of Sale Version 2 software and is helping them to make it a habit.

"The sisters wanted a way to more simply manage their business and better serve their clientele," Capachietti said. "QuickBooks Point of Sale saved them time."

Prior to selecting QuickBooks Point of Sale Version 2, the nuns had been using an outdated, proprietary, DOS-based order entry system at their busy downtown Boston location. Not only was support no longer available for their system, but they also had to manually re-enter transactions into their QuickBooks Pro software at the end of each day.

"Clearly, they were spending too much time on point of sale software issues and unnecessary data entry," Capachietti said.

Sister Nieves agreed. "Before, we had to write things in three or four places at the end of the day," she said. "Now it's so much quicker. With Leslie's help we have found QuickBooks Point of Sale easy to learn and practical."

"QuickBooks Point of Sale is perfect for the sisters," Capachietti said. "With a little coaching, they are mastering the software quite well. And, QuickBooks Point of Sale provides all the functionality they need -- in particular, the ability to import customer and inventory data and effortlessly track inventory."

Capachietti has the right credentials to coach the sisters. Already certified for QuickBooks Point Of Sale Version 1, she is among the first going through the certification process for Version 2.

"The new version has about a dozen enhancements," Capachietti said. "Certification ensures that I am well-versed on the added functionality. I can recommend the QuickBooks Point of Sale solution with confidence that I am among the best in explaining its benefits and providing installation, setup and support services like training."

Besides product knowledge, Capachietti said she benefits in another way from certification.

"Being a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor gives me credibility and credentials," she said. "I use certification as a selling tool."

Capachietti also likes Intuit's new, 180-day extended-use Point of Sale trial for accountants.

"There is no substitute for getting your hands on the product and having ample time to become familiar with it," she said. "And the more familiar I am with the product, the better I can teach people to use it efficiently."

The sisters agree. With a little guidance from Capachietti, they were able to get up and running quickly, processing sales in a short time.
