Intuit Inc. today posted an open letter to TurboTax software customers on its Web site, www.turbotax.com and placed advertisements in the Wall Street Journal and USA Today that apologize for the frustration some customers experienced due to the restrictions that came with the company's use of anti-piracy technology in last year's TurboTax software products.
In the letter, Tom Allanson, general manager of TurboTax, personally apologizes to customers and expresses his concern that the restrictions "caused some of you considerable hassle and inconvenience."
In response to customer feedback, Intuit committed last May to remove activation technology from TurboTax software. The company is taking an additional step and has expanded the TurboTax software license agreement so customers can fully use the new version of the product that will be available later this year on multiple computers to do returns for themselves and members of their family.
Customers can now install and use their current 2002 version of TurboTax software on multiple computers. For additional information, go to www.turbotaxsupport.com.
