Intuit Delivers Johns Manville Branded Version Of Master Builder
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - December 15, 2003 - Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU) today announces availability of the co-branded version of its Intuit® Master Builder™ construction management software product with Johns Manville, a Berkshire Hathaway company (NYSE: BRKa) and leading manufacturer and marketer of premium-quality building and specialty products. In line with Intuit's "Right For My Business" strategy, this product will provide Johns Manville's insulation contractors with a business management solution designed specifically for their trade. With insulation contractor-specific features, the Johns Manville version of Master Builder will give customers greater control, helping them become more efficient, productive and profitable.

"At Intuit, customer-driven innovation is at the core of our product development," said Carol Novello, president of Intuit Construction Business Solutions. "Our effort with Johns Manville enables us to deliver a solution that solves key business and financial management challenges of insulation contractors by incorporating industry expertise that only an insulation building supplies leader like Johns Manville can provide."

In addition to Johns Manville branding, the Johns Manville version of Master Builder will allow insulation contractors to access critical data, including Johns Manville specific part numbers, mark-up manuals, controlled bid prices, and custom templates and reports specifically for insulation contractors. These customized features are combined with Master Builder's fully integrated system offering estimating, project management, construction specific accounting, and detailed reports and analysis. This combination provides Johns Manville's insulation contractors with the necessary business management processes and trade-specific functions to manage their businesses using one system, which will ultimately help them save time and reduce costs.

"We had originally explored developing a solution on our own but after speaking to Intuit it was clear they shared our customer service approach - delivering the same high level of support, easy-to-use functionality and industry-specific features that our customers expect from Johns Manville," said Arnie Spriggs, market manager-programs, of Johns Manville. "This specialized version of Master Builder simplifies managing the financial aspect of running our customers' businesses, saving them a tremendous amount of time which in turn translates to money."

According to Mae Sanders, controller for Kinzler Construction Services and one of the pilot users of the software, the Johns Manville Master Builder solution has reduced the amount of data entry as well as the time required for this administrative task. Said Sanders, "Our previous software required a tremendous amount of manual entry and made every step of the job from the quote to the work order a dual process; we now have a seamlessly integrated system with the added benefit of excellent response time from the Master Builder support team when we need it."

The Johns Manville version of Master Builder is expected to be available in mid to late December 2003.
