LAS VEGAS -
January

2004 -
Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU) today announced new tools to help contractors manage their business more effectively at the 2004 International Builders' Show. New offerings tailored for contractors and the way they work include Contractor Supplies and enhancements to the popular QuickBooks®: Contractor Editions. In addition, a number of third-party developers are showcasing products and services, ranging from job estimator tools to billing solutions, that integrate with QuickBooks: Contractor Editions.
Continuing to deliver on its commitment to help contractors at every phase of growth and for every aspect of their business, Intuit is introducing several contractor-specific forms that are custom-built to work with QuickBooks software. By facilitating the transfer of information from the field directly into QuickBooks software, these forms are designed to help small contractors save time, avoid errors, and run a tighter ship. New contractor forms include:
- Printable Proposals - Tie in with the QuickBooks estimate template, so customers never have to enter data twice.
- Daily Job Reports - Offer an easy way to track materials, labor, subcontractors and equipment directly from the field.
- Weekly Time Sheets - Simplify entering employee hours into QuickBooks by use of specially designed manual time sheets.
- Manual Change Orders - Enable instant client sign-offs on changes to avoid costly disputes and assure getting paid for work completed.
- Manual Proposals - Provide quick and easy transfer of data from the field to office QuickBooks; specially designed for contractors who create proposals in the field.
"Today more than 350,000 contractors rely on QuickBooks to help them manage their business finances and get the job done. We at Intuit are continuously conducting research into their unique needs, in order to develop solutions to help them be more profitable in their construction business," said Jennifer Rand, group business manager of Intuit's QuickBooks group. "Our recently updated QuickBooks: Contractor Editions 2004 offer great tools and features to help contractors better manage their business. And now, our new contractor-specific forms make it easier than ever to gather the right data in the field and streamline business processes, with the same ease of use and convenience of their QuickBooks software."
In addition to the new Contractor Supplies, Intuit has also announced enhancements to QuickBooks: Contractor Editions, which includes QuickBooks: Premier Contractor Edition 2004 and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions: Contractor Edition. These financial and business management software programs are specifically designed with industry-specific features to help contractors manage their business more effectively. In QuickBooks: Contractor Editions, a contractor business can:
- See which jobs are making money - and which ones are not - with contractor job costing tools,
- Help stop losses and boost profits with contractor-specific reports,
- Keep all job details in one place, so contractor businesses can easily manage change orders, purchase orders, invoices, expenses and more, and
