Intuit Names New Chief Marketing Officer
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - April 04, 2005 - Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU) today announced that Mark Schar has been named senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

Schar will lead the company's efforts to acquire new customers and expand share of wallet with existing customers to maximize lifetime value. He will be responsible for product marketing efforts — including Internet and direct marketing — advertising, customer research, business development and communications. Schar reports to Steve Bennett, Intuit's president and chief executive officer.

"Mark's extensive experience in both consumer and Internet marketing will help us reach customers in new, innovative ways," said Bennett. "We expect his leadership to create world-class marketing programs that drive additional growth for Intuit."

Schar is a 25-year veteran of consumer goods marketing at Procter & Gamble, where he was most recently vice president of interactive ventures and market research. He has broad experience in consumer brand marketing and spent 12 years as a vice president and general manager running a variety of global consumer brands and businesses. Since leaving P&G in 2002, he has served as an advisor and board member to interactive and market research startups, including the Palo Alto, Calif.-based Institute for the Future.
