| QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 6.0 Brings Simplicity to Mid-Market |
 |
| With New Powerful Inventory and Scalability, Enterprise Solutions Delights Mid-Market Customers |

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -

2005 -
Having endured decades of complex software with skyrocketing total cost of ownership, mid-market companies can finally get the powerful business management software they need with the legendary simplicity of QuickBooks. Today, Intuit (Nasdaq: INTU) announced QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 6.0, QuickBooks' top-of-the-line financial and business management solution. This new release eliminates previous barriers to mid-market adoption by adding lightning fast performance, a 50 percent increase in scalability and robust new inventory features.
Many businesses that try to deploy mid-market solutions experience very high dissatisfaction rates or fail altogether. These high failure rates result from overly complex workflows, unnecessary features and expensive, complicated implementations. Intuit designed Enterprise Solutions for growing businesses seeking a better choice for business automation.
"The new release of Enterprise Solutions gives mid-sized companies robust performance and increased functionality, but with the same easy-to-use interface that has made QuickBooks the number one accounting solution in the small business market," said Laurie McCabe, vice president, SMB Insights and Business Solutions, AMI Partners. "With a new SQL database and improved inventory, QuickBooks Enterprise is an attractive alternative to mid-market ERP solutions."
Customers who have tried and failed with other mid-market solutions agree. Bill Lawrence, president, CEO and founder of Bubbles Car Wash in Houston, Texas said that he struggled to find a software solution that could grow with his company. In 15 years, his company has grown from a 15-man shop to more than 250 employees, and he is planning to build 15-20 new stores this year.
"After outgrowing Peachtree, we looked at mid-market products from Great Plains, Navision to MAS 90. We chose MAS 90, but after a three month implementation and over $25,000, we realized that the learning curve was way too steep and a half dozen processes within the product were totally burdensome," Lawrence said. "We made the move to Enterprise Solutions and were up and running in 7 days with no problems. With the new database and ability to increase the number of concurrent users, we expect it will be our solution for years to come."
New SQL Database Brings Greater Scalability and Performance
Enterprise Solutions, built on Sybase's industry leading iAnywhere embedded database, gives customers a 50 percent increase to support 15 concurrent users and up to a three to five times increase in performance on real-world tasks. Enterprise Solutions offers open access to the database through Open DataBase Connectivity (OBDC), a universal data access standard which enables maximum interoperability.
"Enterprise Solutions flies," said Nancy Severt of Falcon Executive Aviation in Mesa, Ariz. "My employees get twice as much work done in the same amount of time, giving us back this time to focus on running the business."
Enterprise Solutions is part of Intuit's complete ecosystem of Right for Me products and services that grows with small businesses from startup to mid-market. Built on one code base, database, and user interface QuickBooks allows small businesses to grow from Simple Start Edition through Enterprise with a single platform that eliminates the need for data migration, changes to business workflows, or new product training.
Powerful New Inventory Capabilities
QuickBooks 2006 offers powerful new inventory capabilities automating the key tasks of product-based businesses such as manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers. For example, a new Sales Order Fulfillment feature provides a single view of all pending orders so businesses can base "ship-to" decisions on projected revenue, customer value and other key indicators that help determine fulfillment priority. After determining which orders to fill first, users can immediately print "pick lists" and packing slips to streamline their whole shipping process. This innovative workflow automation can only be found in QuickBooks.
Also new in this release is "Available-to-Promise," a feature previously available only in packages costing thousands of dollars more than QuickBooks. It reports the exact amount of inventory on hand, including where it is committed, when it is needed and what is on order. Available-to-Promise simplifies a company's ability to commit to product delivery dates, or to borrow inventory tagged for later delivery on less critical orders. In the past, businesses were forced to sort through piles of open sales and purchase orders to guesstimate the quantity of inventory that could be promised to a customer and when it would arrive.
"Before Enterprise Solutions, I spent valuable time searching for inventory information needed to make critical decisions, such as which orders were most important or whether I had the inventory needed to fill an order," said Nick Syris of the AVI Electronics in Little Falls, N.J. "With the new inventory features, I can find what I need in a single screen. This saves hours of time that could be spent helping customers."
