New QuickBooks Service Simplifies Managing Web Stores
Intuit and Top E-Commerce Firms Enable Small Businesses to Open Full-Service Web Stores that Integrate with QuickBooks Financial Software
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - June 5, 2006 - Now there's a hassle-free way for small businesses to sell online, accept credit card payments and quickly obtain up-to-the-minute sales reports.

Working with top e-commerce firms, Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU) is offering QuickBooks® Merchant Service for Web Stores, a service that works with leading online store providers to offer an end-to-end, QuickBooks-compatible e-commerce solution. The solution helps small businesses create a Web store, sell online, accept credit card payments through QuickBooks Merchant Service and exchange business data directly with QuickBooks. The preferred providers that have worked with Intuit to offer QuickBooks-ready Web stores are: Affinity Internet®; ProStores™, an eBay® Company; GoDaddy.com®, Homestead Technologies and WebSite Pros.

The service helps small business owners more effectively manage their businesses by synchronizing sales and customer data between their Web store and QuickBooks. In addition, it reconciles debit and credit card sales made via QuickBooks Merchant Service with the software. This compatibility can save business owners valuable time by eliminating the need to manually re-enter data. As a result, they can quickly track sales, credit card, invoice and payment data and create real-time financial reports all in one place.

Growth in online spending
Online retail spending is expected to increase from $81 billion in 2005 to $95 billion in 2006, according to the Internet Shopping Model from JupiterResearch (November 2005). With a QuickBooks-compatible Web store, small businesses are well-equipped to both manage and leverage this growth in online spending.

"QuickBooks Merchant Service for Web Stores has made it easier for me to handle the back-end operations of our business," said Chris Bruce, who manages the Web store for The Sleeter Group, a QuickBooks resource provider for accountants, bookkeepers and small business owners. "Integration with QuickBooks has been a big time-saving element for our business, which grossed $20,000 in online sales in less than four months."

"Intuit has a long tradition of making products and services that help small businesses be successful," said Dan Wernikoff, director of product management for Intuit's QuickBooks Merchant Service. "By working with these trusted e-commerce companies, we've extended the power of QuickBooks to help small business leverage the Web."

Pricing and Availability
By working with a variety of top Web store providers, the service is offered in a variety of plans and prices to meet the needs of small and mid-sized businesses. Web store-provider pricing ranges from as low as $6.99 to $249.95 per month, depending on the provider and package selected. QuickBooks Merchant Service for Web Stores is offered at www.quickbooksmerchantservice.com for a one-time setup fee of $59.95 and a basic monthly fee of $17.95. Credit card processing fees vary.
