ORLANDO, Fla. -
Oct.
30,
2006 -
Intuit Inc., a leading provider of business and financial management solutions, is bringing new job opportunities to the Orlando area as it opens a customer contact center and university student work program in the Central Florida Research Park. Intuit is currently hiring for approximately 150 positions.
Based in Mountain View, Calif., Intuit's new Orlando location will expand the company's customer support program with innovative approaches in call center staffing models, technologies and processes. Many of the employees at Intuit's Orlando site will provide customer support for Intuit's tax products, which have a peak season in the late fall through spring.
"Proximity to the University of Central Florida is a key reason we're opening an office in Orlando," said Mike Runda, Intuit vice president of Global Technical Support Services. "UCF business students have the background in accounting and finance that will be needed for many of the positions we have available. And we can offer university students a flexible schedule that they can work around their class schedule."
The UCF College of Business and Intuit are working together to offer internship credit to UCF students employed by Intuit. The UCF Black & Gold Line bus will offer transportation to the Intuit office, located two miles from the UCF campus. The Intuit site includes a full-service cafeteria, ample parking and easy access to the UCF campus and the East-West Expressway.
"Intuit is offering our students employment opportunities in areas that align with their studies," said Dr. Paul Cheney, chair of the Management Information Systems Department in the College of Business. "We look forward to working with Intuit to give our students new ways to learn and explore their career options."
More information about the Intuit Orlando call center can be found at www.intuit.com/orlando. Intuit has been ranked as one of the "100 Best Companies to Work For" for five consecutive years in Fortune magazine.
