| New QuickBooks Point of Sale Helps Small Retailers Cash In on Success |
 |
| Release Includes Services to Attract Customers Online and Powerful Inventory Management Tools |

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -
Nov.
2,
2006 -
Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU) today launched its latest version of QuickBooks® Point of Sale Retail Management Software. The new version includes powerful new tools and services that extend business management far beyond the cash register, opening new channels to prospective customers online, giving retailers more control over their inventory and streamlining back office tasks.
With new features ranging from enhanced inventory management and reporting tools to integrated marketing services from Google, QuickBooks Point of Sale 6.0 makes it easier for small retailers to be successful and grow their businesses.
"A retail business is not simply about selling items," said Joanne Jacobs, general manager of Intuit's retail solutions division. "To succeed, retailers need easy-to-use tools to manage all aspects of the business - from tracking inventory and customers to paying employees. And a growing number of retailers want to attract new customers online without a considerable investment or risk. The new integrated services in QuickBooks Point of Sale help break down the barriers to online marketing."

| Services to Succeed Online |
 |
|
To help retailers reach the wealth of new prospective customers online, the latest Point of Sale includes the new QuickBooks Product Listing Service. This service lets retailers display their product lists to online shoppers on Google through Google Base to help attract local buyers to their shops.
In addition, retailers can create their own online advertising campaign with $50 in Google AdWords™ credits. AdWords relies on keywords to precisely target the delivery of an ad to Web users seeking information about a particular product or service. Retailers can also track their ads within QuickBooks Point of Sale, giving them full control over their budgets and allowing them to easily adjust their campaign or change their advertising messages at any time.
The new Point of Sale software also allows retailers to create free online business listings with Google Maps™, so customers will be able to see the store listed when they are doing local searches and get information such as driving directions, hours of operation and payment forms accepted. Retailers can also post free, printable coupons on their business listings to attract or retain customers.
Retailers who want to create an online store can use one of the QuickBooks Point of Sale-compatible e-commerce solutions, offered by leading online store providers. They work together with QuickBooks Merchant Service for POS Web Stores to create an end-to-end solution, enabling retailers to accept credit card payments on their Web stores and exchange invoice, sales and customer information with QuickBooks Point of Sale.

| New Inventory Features |
 |
QuickBooks Point of Sale offers several new tools and reporting features that help retailers gain better insight into their inventory and accurately answer customer questions regarding items in stock.
- Greater Control: Retailers often purchase products in bulk, such as cases, from suppliers then sell those products to customers in individual units. The new Multiple Units of Measure feature removes the hassle of manual conversion - and the risk of costly errors - by automatically calculating the conversion from one unit to another in the appropriate forms including invoices, purchase orders and inventory reports.
"The new Multiple Units of Measure has changed the way I run my business," said Jennifer Morris, owner of Jennco Gifts in Massapequa, N.Y. "Previously, I had to call a vendor every time I placed an order to double check that it was placed in the right unit of measure. With the new version of QuickBooks Point of Sale, the holiday inventory we just got in all came in without a hitch, helping to save me time and money."
- Faster Answers: A new Committed/Available Inventory tool quickly shows items that have been placed on hold by a customer so retailers can avoid promising products that are not available for sale and so they have an accurate view of what inventory needs to be re-ordered. QuickBooks Point of Sale also makes it easier to accept returns and exchanges from receipts with a new workflow that only takes a few simple clicks.
- Greater Insight: The new Ratings & Trends tool shows how items are performing day-to-day and over time. Retailers can rank their items by profit, sales dollar or sales quantity and easily see their most popular and most profitable items.
"In the past it was difficult to determine how the various parts of my business were doing, and analyze the results month-to-month or versus the same time last year," said Barry Starkey, owner of Scuba Supply of Nashville, Tenn. "The new Ratings & Trend tool told me that that the most profitable part of my business is the repair shop. This helped me make smart business decisions, such as making sure I promote the repair service to all of my customers."

| Integrated, Powerful Point of Sale |
 |
|
QuickBooks Point of Sale is designed to let retailers spend more time on their customers and less time in the back office. The new version features an improved retail dashboard, which provides key business metrics, such as best-selling items and up-to-date sales figures, in a single view. This lets business owners easily keep an eye on the store without needing to run a series of reports.
The product also includes new features that let sales people collect tips directly from the sales screen and a Time Clock that lets employees clock in and out from the software, making it easier to track schedules and eliminate data entry errors.
Additionally, QuickBooks Point of Sale integrates easily with Microsoft Word, letting retailers instantly generate customized or pre-written letters to customers and vendors using the information already in the product.
