| Kiplinger Ends H&R Block Relationship; Allies with Tax Software Leader |
 |
SAN DIEGO -
Dec.
5,
2006 -
Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU) and The Kiplinger Washington Editors, Inc. today announced a new relationship that will deepen the already rich tax content included in industry-leading TurboTax® products and Web sites.
Kiplinger ended an 11-year relationship with H&R Block's TaxCut to work exclusively with TurboTax, the No. 1-rated, top-selling tax software product. Together, Kiplinger, publisher of the Kiplinger Letters and Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine, and TurboTax will provide taxpayers with accurate information and practical tax preparation guidance on everything from recent life changes, such as buying a home or having a baby, to finding and maximizing deductions, handling complex stock transactions or taking a home office deduction. The additional content, developed by Kiplinger tax editors, will be available in TurboTax products, on the www.turbotax.com Web site, as well as through online videos, podcasts, newsletters and other channels.
"TurboTax makes the complex task of doing taxes much easier," said Dan Maurer, vice president of marketing for the Intuit Consumer Tax Group. "Kiplinger complements that, combining deep tax expertise with the ability to translate tax jargon into easy-to-understand tips and advice. By working together, we dramatically simplify tax preparation, delivering a better outcome for TurboTax customers."
Knight Kiplinger, editor in chief, said that adding his company's highly regarded tax advice to TurboTax will be a plus for taxpayers. "We've been cutting through the complexity of the tax code since the Kiplinger Tax Letter was launched in 1925," he said. "And, we've been honing our tax help for software users for the past 15 years. Now, we're putting that knowledge and experience to work to benefit TurboTax customers."
