How will QIF Data Import Changes Impact You?

To help you better understand how QIF Data Import changes might affect you please use the chart below. Find the Quicken version you use, then check to see if QIF Data Import is available for the type of account you use it for. For example, if you are using Quicken 2004 for Windows and downloading your checking account via QIF, you may continue using QIF Data Import for checking and all other account types. If you upgrade to Quicken 2006 for Windows you will no longer be able to use QIF Data Import for your checking account (as well as savings, credit card, 401(k), and all other brokerage accounts). If you find that you are downloading an account via QIF that is longer be allowed in Quicken 2006 for Windows, check to see if your Financial Institution (FI) offers download into Quicken via an alternative and better method like Open Financial Exchange (OFX).

QIF export will continue to work as it always has. You will still be able to export data from Quicken for all account types.

Quicken Credit Card and Quicken Bill Pay will continue to be available for download via OFX.
