Security and Intuit products
All Internet browsers provide some level of data security.
A 40-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is typical for most browsers
available worldwide and is adequate for most common data transfer
situations. Everyone has recognized that the transfer of sensitive
financial data requires the highest level of security available.
Aside from encryption coding used by national security agencies,
the highest level of Internet data transmission security is
128-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer). All financial institutions
and Internet-capable software suppliers have accepted the
128-bit SSL standard. Further, Internet browsers that enable
128-bit SSL encryption are prohibited from export outside
the U.S. and Canada by U.S. government regulations. Intuit
products can connect to the Internet using most browsers on
the market today, including Microsoft Internet Explorer and
Netscape Navigator/Communicator.
