| Question: |
When synchronizing my account, why do I receive the following message?A different Quicken data file is already associated with this Quicken.com user. |
| |
Possible Cause: |
This message will appear when an account is synchronized to a Quicken.com ID that has been synchronized with another Quicken data file. |
| |
| Answer: |
To use the bank synchronize feature, synchronize to a Quicken.com ID that has not been previously used by another data file:
- From the Quicken Finance menu, choose One Step Update, and then click Options.
-
Click the Connection tab.
-
Select Let me change my Quicken.com login the next time I update, and then click OK.
-
Click Update Now.
-
Click Yes to the message: "Quicken needs you to enter your Quicken.com username and password. Would you like to do that now?"
-
When asked if you have previously registered to use Quicken.com, click No to create a new ID. The Quicken program will then detect your previous Quicken.com ID.
-
Click New User and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.
If you do not want to synchronize with Quicken.com:
- From the Quicken Finance menu, choose One Step Update.
- Clear all of the option checkboxes under Synchronize with Quicken.com, and then click Update Now.
- Click Update Now.
Note: For bank synchronization, there is a one to one relationship between a Quicken file and a Quicken.com User ID. Other integrated features, such as quotes, portfolio update, reminders, and WebEntry do not have this requirement.
