| Question: |
How do I resolve the following error message, which appears after installing the Release 2 (R2) update?
"A patching engine error has occurred." |
| |
Possible Cause: |
This message has been known to occur after installing the Release 2 (R2) update if:
- The update was downloaded between January 23 and January 25 of 2002, and
- Quicken 2002 Deluxe or Quicken 2002 Home & Business was unlocked or upgraded from Quicken 2002 New User Edition (NUE).
|
| |
| Answer: |
To resolve this error message, download and install the R2 update from the Quicken 2002 for Windows Manual Update page.
If the message persists, reinstall Quicken from the installation CD-ROM, and then download the update again.
Note: If Quicken New User Edition (NUE) was preinstalled on your computer, you may not have an installation CD. Instead, reinstall the program from your hard disk:
- Search for the folder QWDeluxe (Quicken Deluxe) or QWHB (Quicken Home & Business) on your computer's hard disk (usually Drive C).
- Once located, double-click the folder to open it, and then double-click the Disk1 folder.
- Double-click the Setup.exe file to begin installation. Quicken will prompt you for an unlocking code; please refer to Reinstalling an unlocked or trial version of Quicken for further instructions.
- After unlocking Quicken NUE to the appropriate version, download and install the update using One Step Update.
