Extensions are programs that add functionality to your Macintosh computer system. Occasionally, extensions from other software utilities may conflict with the Quicken installer. This is especially true with virus protection software, programs that compress hard disk space, and Random Access Memory (RAM) simulators that increase the amount of RAM available.
Because Quicken uses some extensions to run the CD-ROM, you should disable only the extensions not needed for CD-ROM.
After the system has restarted, insert the Quicken CD-ROM and then start the Quicken installer.
If Quicken has been installed, but does not open, you may need to limit the extensions to a base set in order to determine if there is an extension conflict:
- From the Macintosh® Apple menu, choose Control Panels, and then choose Extensions Manager.
- Select Mac OS Base from the Selected Set list. (Write down the name of the set that was selected.)
- Click Restart.
- Once the system has restarted, start Quicken, and then determine which extension was causing the conflict by referring to the information available at www.apple.com.
To set the Extensions Manager back to the previous extensions:
- From the Macintosh® Apple menu, choose Control Panels, and then choose Extensions Manager.
- Select the setting you have recorded from the Selected Set list, and then click the restart button.
For additional information on installation, view the Installation section of the Quicken Support Web site. |
