Importing Quicken for Macintosh items individually into Quicken for
Windows
If your file seems as though it is missing data that should have been
included, create a new Quicken for Windows file and proceed with the following
import process, using the same Export.qif file:
- Click the File menu, point to Import, and then select QIF
file. (In Quicken 98 for Windows, click File, point to File
Operations, and then select Import.)
- Click Browse and locate the Export.qif file on your floppy disk.
(In Quicken 98 for Windows, click Find File to locate the file on your
floppy disk.)
- In the Include in Import field, select only Account List
and click OK.
- Once the import is complete, all the accounts exported from the Quicken
for Macintosh file should appear in your Account List, but without transactions
or balances.
- Click the File menu, point to Import, and then select QIF
file. Your QIF file (Export.qif) should still appear in the QIF File
To Import field.
- Remove the check from Account List, select Category List,
and then click OK.
- After the Category list imports, repeat the steps, selecting Security
List next.
- After importing the Security list, repeat the steps, choosing Transactions
and Special Handling for Transfers
Note: As the transactions import, you may receive messages asking you
to verify the account that the transactions are to import into. Answer these
questions appropriately as they arise.
