Backing up Quicken data

  1. Place a known-to-be-good, formatted floppy disk or other portable media in the correct drive or device.
  2. From the File menu in the Quicken program, choose Backup (or press CTRL+B).
  3. Select the drive where you inserted the backup disk, then select an option for File to Back Up and click OK.
  4. If the file is larger than the space available on the backup disk, select the backup option you want. Then replace the backup disk with another disk if necessary, and click OK.
  5. When Quicken tells you that the backup is complete, click OK and remove the backup disk. Store the disk (or disks) in a safe place.

Repeat steps 1 through 5 as necessary to create additional backup copies.

Note: Data on floppy disks can easily be damaged or erased. We strongly recommend making multiple backup copies of important Quicken data files. Also, regularly use new floppy disks for these backup copies.
