| Exporting
and Importing Quicken Data
The Quicken Export/Import function enables transfer of accounts between Quicken files, between files from other personal financial software and Quicken files, and allows you to import data downloaded from a financial institution's Web site. Before following the steps and solutions outlined in this document, please try following the basic steps for Correcting Data File Corruption and the Advanced Steps for Correcting Data File Corruption to resolve your issue. Note: This procedure is only useful as a last resort for troubleshooting a corrupt data file when all other methods for correcting data corruption fail. It involves moving data from a damaged file to a new file by creating a QIF file. This is generally done only at the advice of an Intuit Technical Support Engineer due to the large amount of information that may be lost in the new file that is created in this process. This procedure has two basic steps: 1) exporting the data into a QIF (Quicken Interchange Format) file and 2) importing the QIF file into another Quicken data file. Follow the steps in the documents below for exporting and importing data from an existing data file to a new Quicken file. We recommend that you print these pages for easy reference and create at least one good backup of your original file before following the steps in these documents.
