Attention Quicken 2000 Customers: Important Information Regarding Your Quicken Product

As of April 20, 2004 Online Services will no longer be available for Quicken 2000 customers. These services include online bill pay; downloading financial data from your bank, credit union, credit card, brokerage or mutual fund accounts; and downloading stock quotes, news headlines and other financial information into Quicken.

In addition, live technical support is no longer available in this version. To continue using these services and maintain access to live technical support from an Intuit representative, you will need to upgrade to a currently supported version, such as Quicken 2004.

Upgrading is easy, and Quicken 2004 automatically reads your existing data file, so you can start using the new features right away

Q: Why will online services no longer be available for Quicken 2000?

A: We are committed to delivering the best possible products, service, and security to our customers. Each year, the number of customers using current versions of Quicken grows. Retirement of older versions of the product allows us to focus our resources on supporting our more current products, which are used by the vast majority of Quicken customers.

Q: Exactly what Quicken services are affected by this change?

A:Online Services include online bill pay; downloading financial data from your bank, credit union, credit card, brokerage or mutual fund accounts; and downloading stock quotes, news headlines and other financial information into Quicken. Q: If I don't use online services, will Quicken 2000 continue to work?

A: Quicken features not mentioned above are not being discontinued and should continue to function for the foreseeable future.

However, one of the great strengths of the Quicken program, is the ability to download financial and other information from a variety of sources, thereby saving you both time and effort when managing your finances. While this functionality is affected by this change in service, the rest of the core program functionality should continue to function albeit in a diminished state. Keep in mind however,you will not be able to solicit live technical support for your product should you require assistance.

To continue the use of online services and maintain access to live technical support with an Intuit representative, after , you will need to upgrade to a currently supported version such as Quicken 2004.

Q: How will my financial data be affected by this?

A: Your financial data will not be affected by the discontinuation of online services. If you plan to upgrade to a current version of Quicken, the program will walk you through the process to make all of your data compatible with the new format.

Q: Do I have to pay for support for Quicken 2004?

A: Intuit offers a number of free support options for Quicken 2004. A list of options is available on our support Web site.

Free installation assistance is available for Quicken 2004 if you need it.

Q: What will happen to online service customers who do NOT upgrade before April 20, 2004?

A: After April 20, 2004, any online service customer attempting to connect from Quicken 2000 to a financial institution will receive the following error: "Quicken was unable to obtain important information about this financial institution. There may be a problem with the Internet connection or the server. Please try again." Although the message states to "try again," you will not be able to connect again until you upgrade to a supported version.

Q: What if I'm currently using Microsoft® Windows® 95 or 3.1? Do you have a product that will work with my Operating system?

A: The minimum operating system requirement for Quicken 2004 for Windows is Windows 98. See Quicken for Microsoft Windows system requirements for more information.

Q: What if I'm using an older Mac OS®? Is your current product supported on my system?

Q: How do I know what version of Quicken I currently have?

A: To find out what version of Quicken you are currently using, open your Quicken software. In windows versions click on the Help menu and choose “About Quicken”. In Mac you may check your version using these instructions.
