Release 3 (R3) is now available for Quicken Deluxe 2001 for Macintosh. Intuit recommends that all Quicken Deluxe 2001 for Macintosh users install this update.

Download and install R3 to take advantage of the following improvements:

• Online Certificates: This installer will replace the old Quicken online certificate with a new online certificate. Because the old Quicken online certificate is expiring, this update is required in order to continue using some of the online features of Quicken 2001. If you have already installed the R2 update, this is the only change.
• Save a Copy: You may have experienced a problem where you could not use the "Save a Copy" menu item to save a copy of your data file over an existing copy with the same name. This issue has been corrected in R3.
• Investment Actions: You may have experienced a problem where switching accounts, from a Mutual Fund to a Portfolio or vice versa, and then clicking in the first field below it would cause Quicken to crash. This issue has been corrected in R3.
• Category Detail Report/Net Worth Report/Budgets and Graphs: You may have encountered a calculation error when running a report, graph, or budget with split transactions of 14 or more lines. This issue has been corrected in R3.
• Printing: You may have experienced a problem where you were unable to save your printing preferences when attempting to print a check. This issue has been corrected in R3.
• Quicken Help: You may have experienced a problem launching Quicken Help after updating to Mac OS 9.1. This issue has been corrected in R3.

Follow these instructions to install the R3 update:

Note: Mac OS X users need to restart using Mac OS 9.1 prior to installing the Quicken R2 update. To switch to Mac OS 9.1, complete the following steps.

1. Click the System Preferences icon on the Dock.
2. Double-click the Startup Disk icon.
3. Select the System Folder labeled Mac OS 9.1 on ....
4. On the Apple menu, select Restart.

Your computer will now restart into Mac OS 9.1.

Mac OS 8.6, 9.0, 9.0.4, and 9.1 users:

1. If you have not installed and registered your existing copy of Quicken Deluxe 2001, do so now.
2. Double click the Quicken Deluxe 2001 R3 Updater application.
3. The updater application will search for a file called ofxroots.crt which is located in the Quicken Essentials folder inside the Quicken Deluxe 2001 folder on your hard disk. If more than one ofxroots.crt file is found, select the one that corresponds to the copy of Quicken you wish to update.
4. Click Update.
   NOTE - If the updater application does not find a "ofxroots.crt" file on your hard drive, you will need to reinstall Quicken Deluxe 2001 from your original CD.Please refer to the read-me file included in your download for additional information, or if you encounter an error when attempting to install R3.
