Release 3 (R3) is now available for Quicken Deluxe 2002 for Macintosh. Intuit recommends that all Quicken Deluxe 2002 for Macintosh users install this update.

Download and install R3 to take advantage of the following improvements:

Note: Stuffit Expander is required to install Quicken updates. Stuffit Expander is not included in Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger). If you are using Tiger, a free download of Stuffit Expander is available at http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/index.html.

For all Quicken Deluxe 2002 for Macintosh users

• Online Certificates: This installer will replace the old Quicken online certificate with a new online certificate. Because the old Quicken online certificate is expiring, this update is required in order to continue using some of the online features of Quicken 2002. If you have already installed the R2 update, this is the only change.
• Splits in the Security Detail Window: You may have noticed that after converting your data file, split transactions were calculated incorrectly in the Security Detail window, but not in the Register. This issue has been fixed in this release.
• Investment Actions: You may have noticed that the Lots button was missing from the Investment Actions window. This issue has been fixed in this release.
• Category Detail Report/Net Worth Report/Budgets and Graphs: You may have encountered a calculation error when running a report, graph, or budget with split transactions of 14 or more lines. This issue has been fixed in this release.
• Printing: You may have experienced a problem where you were unable to save your printing preferences when attempting to print a check. This issue has been fixed in this release.

For download transaction users

• Downloading when no new transactions are available: You may have experienced a system freeze when hiding Quicken after initiating a transaction download and receiving a "No New Transactions" dialog. This issue has been fixed in this release.
• Downloading Investment Transactions:
  • You may have received the dialog "You must fill in this field" when downloading a SELL transaction from your Broker. This issue has been fixed in this release.
  • If you have installed Carbon Lib 1.4 or 1.5 and download investment transactions from your brokerage you may have experienced a problem with Quicken unexpectedly quitting when initiating a download. This issue has been fixed in this release.

For OS X users

• Download Transactions Window: You may have noticed that in some circumstances, transactions accepted in the Download Transactions window remained in the upper portion of the window until the window was refreshed. This issue has been fixed in this release.
• QuickMath: You may have noticed that under OS X, QuickMath appears in the upper left hand corner of the screen. This issue has been fixed in this release.
  

Follow these instructions to install the R3 update:

1. If you have not installed and registered your existing copy of Quicken Deluxe 2002, do so now.
2. Click the link below to download the Quicken Deluxe 2002 for Macintosh R3 update. The file, Quicken_2002_R3_Updater.sit, will be saved in your default download location.
3. Double-click the Quicken_2002_R3_Updater.sit file. This will unstuff the Quicken_2002_R3_Updater.img file to the same location.
4. Double-click the Quicken_2002_R3_Updater.img file. This will launch Disk Copy to create a disk image on your desktop.
5. Double-click the Quicken Deluxe 2002 R3 Updater disk image.
6. The updater application will search for a file called ofxroots.crt which is located in the Quicken Essentials folder inside the Quicken Deluxe 2002 folder on your hard disk. If more than one ofxroots.crt file is found, select the one that corresponds to the copy of Quicken you wish to update.
7. Click Update.
   Note: If the updater application does not find a ofxroots.crt file on your hard drive, you will need to reinstall Quicken Deluxe 2002 from your original CD.
