Quicken 7 for Macintosh - Program Updates

The most recent update to Quicken 7 for Macintosh (release R6) is available as a downloadable update. Before downloading the update, check to make sure you need it.

Select About Quicken from the Apple menu, and press R on your keyboard. If anything other than R6 is listed, proceed with the update by downloading the appropriate updater file.

Installing the Updater

1. Double-click the .SEA file that you downloaded to uncompress the actual updater folder onto your hard drive. 
2. Double-click the Quicken Deluxe & Regular 7 Updater icon for your application type. Depending on the way you installed Quicken Deluxe & Regular 7, the Updater will either be called Quicken Deluxe & Regular 7 Update 68K, Quicken Deluxe & Regular 7 Update PPC, or Quicken Deluxe & Regular 7 Update Fat. Use the Fat version if your application type is 68K or PPC. (See section A above if you are unsure of your application type.) 
3. The Updater reports that it will update your copy of Quicken Deluxe & Regular 7 to Quicken Deluxe & Regular 7 Release R6. It attempts to locate Quicken Deluxe & Regular 7 on your hard disk and highlights it as the application to be updated.
4. Confirm the highlighted application you want to update and click Update. You will see the Updating Quicken Deluxe & Regular 7... status bar. It should take between 2 and 5 minutes to complete the update. 
5. When the update is finished, the Updater tells you Your copy of Quicken Deluxe & Regular 7 has been updated successfully.
6. Copy the Quicken Guide file into the Quicken Help folder and the TAX.SCD file into the Quicken Essentials folder. These folders are located in the same folder as your Quicken Deluxe & Regular 7 application.
7. Restart your Macintosh.

Once the update is complete, you will have only release R6 of Quicken 7 on your hard disk. You will no longer have a copy of your old release.

Note: Your Quicken data files will not be changed in any way.
