Quicken 2004 for Windows -- One Step Update

Depending on your modem speed, the capabilities of your Internet Service Provider (ISP), and overall Internet traffic, downloading the Quicken 2004 update may take 30 minutes or longer.

Note: You must complete all online investment and banking sessions before updating to a new Quicken program release.

It is necessary to have the Quicken 2004 program installed on your computer to use the following procedure.

1. If you regularly go online for Online Quotes, start Quicken and go online to retrieve quotes. After your information is downloaded, a message will appear indicating that an update is available.
   
   
2. If you do not regularly go online, choose One Step Update from the Online menu. This will open the Quicken 2004 One Step Update window.
   
   
3. Clear all the checkmarks for all options in the Quicken 2004 One Step Update window. Click Update Now. This causes the Quicken program to automatically look for an available update.
   
   
4. When an update is available for the Quicken program you are using, the One Step Update Summary window will appear, indicating that an update is available. Click Continue.

   Note: Even when an update is available, several one step update attempts may be necessary before the program update notification appears.

5. The Free Update to Quicken Available! window will appear. Click Update Now to download and install the update for Quicken 2004.
   
   
6. At the Quicken 2004 Update Program window, click Next.
   
   
7. Follow the update wizard instructions to complete the installation of the update.
   
   
8. Once installation of the update is completed you will receive the message Congratulations You Have Been Updated To Revision 5! You may ensure that the update was successful by checking which release of Quicken is installed.

Note: If the Quicken 2004 program is uninstalled after updating to the latest release or reinstalled from your original Quicken 2004 CD-ROM, you must also reinstall the update.
