Quicken 4 for Windows - Program Updates

The most recent update to Quicken 4 for Windows (currently Release 7) is available as a self-executing download. To update your program, follow this procedure:

1. Check your current release.

   1. With Quicken 4 open, hold down the Shift key and select About Quicken from the Help menu.

   2. Quicken displays a Windows showing your current release. If it says Quicken 4 for Windows, R7, you already have the latest release. If it says anything except R7 proceed with the update.

2. Get the update executable (295 KB) by selecting Download Update R7.
3. Unzip the file into a temporary directory. WinZIP is a good unzipping tool. To obtain WinZIP, select Get WinZIP.
4. Exit Windows completely; go to a DOS prompt. This update will not install properly from within Windows.
5. Switch to your temporary directory and enter:

   QW4R7 C:\Quickenw
   (Where Quickenw is the location of your Quicken 4 program.)

You now have Quicken 4 for Windows, Release 7. To verify the update, check the release number using steps 1a and 1b above.
