Locating the Quicken 2006 new release update file

Use one of the following procedures to locate your Quicken 2006 update file:

• Use Procedure A if you originally used the One Step Update function in the Quicken 2006 program.

• Use Procedure B if you manually downloaded and installed the Quicken 2006 update file.

Procedure A

1. From the Microsoft® Windows® Start menu, click Find, and then choose Files or Folders.
2. In the Find Files window, make sure the Name & Location tab is selected.
3. Type qwpatch.exe in the Named field. Make sure the Look In field specifies the drive the Quicken 2006 program is installed on (most commonly the C: drive).
4. Click the Find Now button.
5. If the file is not found on your computer, you must update your Quicken program again.
   

Procedure B

1. From the Microsoft® Windows Start menu, click Find, and then choose Files or Folders.
2. In the Find Files window, make sure the Name & Location tab is selected.
3. Type the name of the update file, QW06R*PATCH.exe, in the Named field.
   
   Note: The * (asterisk) character is formed by pressing Shift + 8 on most keyboards.
   
   
4. Make sure the Look In field specifies the drive that the Quicken 2006 program is installed on (most commonly the C:\ drive).
5. Click the Find Now button.
6. If the file is not found on your computer, you must try the manual update to update your Quicken program again.
